Must Wear Wednesday – Espadrilles

Must Wear Wednesday – Espadrilles

During the warmer months, we don’t think much about our day to day outfits. We all tend to just throw on a t-shirt or tank top, denim shorts, and some flip-flops. It wasn’t until I really started to pay attention to fashion trends that I realized that summer fashion was a thing! I thought other people just lived in their bathing suits and sandals just like me. During the past couple of weeks, I have really been paying attention to shoe trends with what stores are selling and what people are wearing on their feet.
So instead of just wearing my trusty Old Navy flip-flops for the next couple of months, I decided to buy a couple pairs of espadrilles. By definition, espadrilles can be any style of shoe made with a light canvas material and a weaved fiber sole. When I was shopping for this style of shoe, I didn’t know how many different kinds of styles there were or how absolutely adorable they are. Not only are they versatile but you can pretty much live in this style of shoe all summer long because of how many different types there are.

Espadrille Flats:

I personally like espadrilles flats the most out of all of these styles because not only are they easy to wear and the most comfortable but they can be worn with almost every outfit to any type of event/occasion. This type of shoe is also the best for spring and summer because they are lightweight and the woven soles have a beach feel to them. You can easily pair espadrilles flats with a simple t-shirt and shorts or with a cute sundress.

Espadrille Sneakers:

Espadrilles sneakers are new to me and I don’t see them being sold in stores, other than giant department stores. This style is great for when you have to run a lot of errands or will be on your feet all day shopping, exploring the town, or running after your kids. These are great for a casual weekend look with a tank top and distressed denim shorts.

Espadrille Wedges:

Wedges are the style that I actually see the most for the espadrilles trend. They are so cute and instantly add more style to your outfit. For a more sophisticated dressed up look I would choose a closed toe wedge that can be worn to work with chino dress pants or a cute mid-length skirt. For a more casual out on the town look, go for an open toe shoe that can show off your cute pedicure!

Each of these styles is very versatile and can be worn with many different outfits for many different kinds of events or occasions. You can’t go wrong with the espadrilles trends for summer. What do you think of these style of shoes?
