The Autumn Tag – My Favorite Things About Fall

Recently I have discovered that Autumn is my favorite season. I know I am 24 years old and I have just figured this out. I thought summer was my favorite time of the year but turns out that I liked summer more when I was a kid because of summer break. But as an adult, you don’t get that so I picked another season. Fall is a wonderful time of the year because it is still a little warm out, you get to transition your wardrobe, and it’s the start of holiday decorating! That is why I was so happy that Esther nominated me to write this post so all of you can learn about all the reason why I like autumn and the whole Halloween season. You can read her full post here and read about how much she loves the season as well!
What signifies the start of Autumn for you?
Even though the first of Autumn was on September 22nd of this year, it wasn’t until a whole week later that I recognized that it was fall. For me, the start of the season begins October 1st. That is when it is officially acceptable to break out all the fall and Halloween decorations!
What is your favorite Autumn scent?
I usually buy one or two candles a season and this year I bought a pumpkin pie scent and an apple cinnamon. It makes my whole apartment smell amazing and candles make it extra cozy!
What is your favorite Autumn color?
Burnt orange and olive green are two colors that when you look at them, you just think “FALL”. I don’t have a lot of rust/burnt orange clothing items but I do have a lot of olive green pieces.
Are you a fan of a PSL (pumpkin spice latte)?
I have tried pumpkin spice and it was okay, but I am more of a mocha latte type of gal. I pretty much just drink mocha drinks whether it’s in a coffee or latte form.
What is your favorite Autumn drink?
Apple cider is a drink we always pick up while we are at our local pumpkin patch. I love heating the drink up and drinking it warm – it’s delicious.
Apple pie or Pumpkin pie?
This is a hard one because I do like both of these pies but if I was being truly honest, I like pumpkin pie more. I am not a die-hard fan of apple pie but I always make an apple crisp dessert every year from the apples that we pick.

What is your favorite Autumn fashion trend?
This year my favorite autumn trend is the leopard print trend! I am not a huge fan of the print but I did find ways to add it to my wardrobe.
What is your favorite Autumn activity?
As much as I love going to the pumpkin patch, I love carving the pumpkins more. Usually a week before trick-or-treat night we carve our pumpkins, put a candle in them, and set them out on the porch.
What is your favorite Halloween movie or TV show?
Okay so Disney Channel had the best Halloween movies/ TV episodes when I was a kid and I still watch them every year. My favorite movie is Halloweentown and I would move there if it was a real place. I also love The Aadams Family, Casper, Beetlejuice, Twitches, and the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. My favorite Disney Channel Halloween episodes are the Lizzie McGuire episode about the day of the dead, the That’s So Raven episode where they turn into cows and the Suite Life of Zach and Cody where there is a ghost in room 613 but it really just turns out to be Esteban!
Are you a fan of horror movies?
NOPE! That is why I watch Disney Channel Halloween movies haha
Do you ever do anything fun for Halloween?
I love handing out candy on trick-or-treat night. I go all out and decorate my front porch with lights and spooky stuff.
What was your favorite part about Halloween?
Decorating my apartment with pumpkins, lights, black cats, ghosts, witches, candles, and spiderwebs. I also love all the candy that is on sale in stores.

Where is your dream destination to visit in the Autumn?
This year we did a New England road trip and one of the stops was the town of Salem, Massachusetts. During the month of October, they put on Haunting’s Happenings around the town. They have parades and shows, and people dress in costume. It was really cool to see all of this and learn about the witch trials that occurred there 300 years ago.
When do you usually start preparing for Christmas?
Well, I have already put together a list of what my family and friends are getting for Christmas this year and I have already bought a few things. I like to buy everything over the course of a couple of months because if I don’t, I will go broke buying everything at once. As for Christmas decorations, they go up Thanksgiving day!

I had my first pumpkin pie this year, because it is not popular in Slovenia, so it is impossible to get it anywhere and almost no one makes it. I combined few recipes and it turned out so good, so I am all for team pumpkin pie now. 🙂 For me fall is also time for chai latte and I still need to get some nice candles. I think the scents you picked are the best for this time. Great post!

I love this tag! You reminded me why I love autumn soo much. I never thought to heat up Apple cider that sounds lush. I had Spiced Apple at our Christmas fair and it was gorgeous!! You’re soo correct about the colours for Autumn, I love a good burnt orange or red, it’s perfect!

I have read a couple of these posts and it’s always so interesting to see the differences between them all. I have to admit that I love apple pie more then pumpkin but I went all out for pumpkin this year and really enjoyed it so maybe that’s changing as I get older haha
